Growing Together - Early Career Counsellors
Fostering the future generation of professional counsellors and psychotherapists.
At ALY'S PLACE, we are proud to be a teaching practice supporting early career counsellors and psychotherapists.
Our early career practitioners are Master-level professional counsellors, coming to private practice after years of tertiary education and rich life experience.
While they are still building their caseloads and client base, they are able to offer reduced rates for individual and couples counselling.
The reduced rates are:
$120 for 60-minute individual sessions and
$200 for 90-minute couples sessions.
All our early career counsellors hold professional registrations and attend regular supervision and debriefing sessions with our Lead Counsellor, Alyona Cerfontyne.

Meet Carmen Yoong,
Early Career Counsellor passionate about helping couples and families
Hey, I'm Carmen!
Originating from the culturally diverse country, Malaysia, I was given an opportunity by the Australian Government to move to Melbourne to pursue my Counselling studies.
My professional journey includes experiences as a humanitarian case worker, addressing issues of sexual and gender-based violence, and as a mental health recovery coach for teenagers and young adults dealing with complex trauma, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
Working with diverse communities has shown me the common thread of the profound impact of relationships on mental health. I'm passionate about helping others navigate their life's journey by focusing on improving relationships, ultimately enhancing overall life quality.
In our sessions, you can expect an open-minded, curious, and empathetic approach, creating a safe space for you to share comfortably. I am committed to doing my best and supporting your well-being. Beyond work, I find joy in singing, traveling, and spending quality time with loved ones.
