Child and Adolescent Counselling

"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about" - Angela Schwindt

Little - and not-so-little-anymore - humans are very sensitive to changes around them. Sometimes, when they feel unsure, confused or overwhelmed with the process of growing-up, making friends or being confronted by something they don't understand, they need extra emotional support and time to explore their experiences.

As a professional counsellor with training in child and adolescent mental health I can help your child, no matter if they are 5 or 15, to feel understood and process difficult emotions.

Common issues I can help your child with

- Stress at home

- Understanding their emotions

- Growing up and changes in their body

- Transition through separation or divorce of the parents

- New baby arrival and adjustment to this change

- Just a safe space to talk and be yourself

Meet Aanushka,

our Child and Adolescent Counsellor

I am a tertiary qualified counsellor with a warm and caring persona.  Always a kid at heart, I am here to help my younger clients in whatever they are dealing with.

In my work with children and adolescents I use a mix of play therapy, art therapy and just talking. My goal is not to find "what's wrong with you", but rather to help you feel supported, understood and connected with others in this world.

I have a Masters of Counselling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Psychology.
I am also a Level 2 Member of the Australian Counselling Association.

Meet Chloe,

our Child and Adolescent Counsellor

Hi! I'm Chloe. Nice to meet you! I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and their families and I am particularly passionate about early intervention. I believe every young person deserves a safe space to be themselves and share what's on their mind in an empathetic and non-judgemental environment. I work with children and adolescents to make big feelings and experiences into things that can be understood and managed. I am a creative at heart and create engaging sessions based on each client’s interests, strengths and communication style. Most importantly, I find it a privilege to walk alongside younger clients on their journey through what is their formative years of ups, downs and everything in between.

I have a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Human Services. Additionally, I have experience counselling children and adolescents over telehealth. I regularly attend trainings and professional development to ensure my practice is consistently evolving and up to date with current research.
